Our Spring RUSH is here!
KAPPA OMEGA ALPHA is a professional fraternity open to all majors, genders, and gender identities.
Our purpose is to foster student participation in the fields of law and public policy through professional, service, and social involvement.
In case you missed our first informational meeting, there’s still time to learn about KOA before our first official rush event! Our second informational meeting is on Jan 21st from 7-8 pm in room 471 in the MSU College of Law Building.
Who are we?
Our 75-person chapter encompasses 24 majors, including Political Science, International Relations, Social Relations & Policy, Economics, Marketing, Criminal Justice, Urban & Regional Planning, and Construction Management. Our members are currently involved in student organizations, internships, foreign study, local charities, and political campaigns.
How can I become a member?
Come meet us on our first rush event. This will give you an opportunity to learn about KOA and meet some of our members. Our rush schedule is displayed above. There will also be an informational meeting a week before rush begins.
Are there any major or college restrictions?
We encourage all majors and pride ourselves on the vast number of majors that our chapter consists of.
Do I have to go to all four rush events?
Yes. This gives all of our members enough time to meet and get to know you. This also shows us that you are willing and able to devote the necessary time for our organization. If you have further questions about attendance or the rush schedule, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can I join KOA if I’m a member of Greek Life or planning on being in the future?
Yes. You can join KOA while remaining a member of a Greek-affiliated organization or a Greek letter honor society. We have multiple members who are able to be devoted members while still maintaining close involvement in their fraternity or sorority.
Is KOA only for people who want to go to law school?
No. While we offer many exciting opportunities for students bound to law school, you do not have to be planning on going to law school to have a fulfilling experience in KOA. Only about half of our members go on to law school. Others go on to various graduate programs or straight into their careers.
Will I need an updated resume for Rush?
Yes. You will not be required to bring one to the first event but later in the process we will ask for an updated professional resume.
